So Lima beans are Butter beans? I actually like butter beans - hot and buttery, with black pepper (well, I like butter and black pepper with a LOT of things lol)
so add me to the "not gross" heap! Maybe we need a poll????

Thanks! Now I want those rolls even more...

Yes, b_twin_1 is the queen of chocolate ganache (more drooling)

And Robin's blog?

I'm not sure what you're asking, I'm sorry. If you want notifications of Robin's posts, there's a place on the blog to enter your email address. You could also use the RSS to get the feed.

Does that make better sense?

Oh, yes, you should still be able to go directly to Robin's blog and sign up for *that* notification. It's unrelated to the forum notifications. Or you don't have to have notifications at all!

I don't like octopus as sushi (yick - super rubbery) but cooked! Oh yum.
|
Sorry, Susan. It's not that I don't like the taste of cephalopods--I used to quite enjoy squid! But it's quite honestly a personal thing. Once I discovered firsthand how genuinely intelligent octopi (and squids and cuttlefish) are, the idea of eating them became kind of repellent to me. I've met cows, sheep, chickens and pigs before and haven't had this same reaction, so call me a moral relativist if you like. But there's smart and SMART, and octopi are smart. Ergo, I don't eat 'em.
Chambered nautiluses, though? Dumber than paint. The dunces of Order Cephalopodia. I'd eat 'em like popcorn if I could.
(Not really. Too much work to get 'em out of those shells.)

You moral relativist you!
But, joking aside, although I personally decide food on a yuck /love factor on instinct and don't bring my morals to the table, I perfectly understand and respect others' food preferences. Personally I could make quite a case for the sensitivities and intelligence of plants, but I still eat 'em most happily. Call me a morally lax glutton

I love this song, by the Arrogant Worms. It amuses me to no end... It seems somewhat relevant to the discussion about eating things which are intelligent.
"The center of every man's existence is a dream. Death, disease, insanity, are merely material accidents, like a toothache or a twisted ankle. That these brutal forces always besiege and often capture the citadel does not prove that they are the citadel."
