That is funny! They have to be Canadians, they have that scewed humour.

Correct! Very Happy One of their songs has a preface for the live version of it that says a reviewer once complained that they had too much Canadian content... so they wrote a song called, "Forgive Us, We're Canadian!"

They also have the songs "I'm not an American" and "The War of 1812" - in which they boast about defeating the Americans, it's actually quite hilarious...

"The center of every man's existence is a dream. Death, disease, insanity, are merely material accidents, like a toothache or a twisted ankle. That these brutal forces always besiege and often capture the citadel does not prove that they are the citadel."

Apropos the "sensitivities --- of plants" - my husband won't pluck fruit in the night, because it's cruel to the plant since it's asleep...

Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean, like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.

I love this song, by the Arrogant Worms. It amuses me to no end...

They are indeed Canadian. I was introduced to them by my Canadian nephews and great nephews. My favourites are 'I am Cow', 'The Only Gay Eskimo' and 'The Assumption Song'. I always had a skewed sense of humour too, though! Very skewed in this case.....

I love Arrogant Worms.

Another group in a similar vein is Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie.

My father, picking beans in his garden yesterday, said, "Some of these are child murder!"

And guess what - my mother gave me a bread recipe booklet she'd been given, sponsored by a flour manufacturer - and there is a recipe for "cinnamon swirls", that are, indeed, cinnamon rolls. But no sultanas in them, alas.....

To Amelia

Having celiac disease does not mean giving up all your favorite foods. Look for a gluten-free bakery. Find gluten-free recipes on the web or in specialty cookbooks(I like Bette Hagman's but think she only writes in American measurements) I will post a recipe for cinnamon rolls in the recipe thread for you.
