Just poking my head in... running late as usual (and running off in a moment for some non-virtual food!).
I played Arkham Horror at a con once.... I think we actually managed to win, even! It's one of the more complicated board games I've encountered, but rather fun!
Apples to Apples is a party staple around here, and parties happen pretty regularly and randomly. Of course, we generally play so that it's the ones we like, or think the person choosing will like... having little to do withs similarity. ^_^
Another fun one is Set. The idea is that there are four variables - shape, color, fill pattern, and number. Each card has one choice for each variable (for example, three solid green diamonds), and you want to pick up three with everything from a given variable either the same or different. (so, one bordered purple squigly, two red hashed ovals, and the aforementioned three solid green diamonds). It's all about pattern recognition. Of course, not content with that, my boyfriend and I invented the brain-breaking variant - find sets where nothing matches. Anti-patterns, if you will. Great fun!

Oh, I have been missing a lot of fun! But I had to sleep - and seeing that it's fairly quiet here just now I assume others are sleeping now, so I thought this would be appropriate:

Aaj kal mein dhalgaya
Today has faded into tomorrow
din hua tamaam
the day is complete
tu bhi sojaa, sogayee
sleep you too, asleep
rang bhari shyam
is the colourful evening
Sorry about the awkward - possibly slightly erronous - translation. (Some of the other lyrics are nearly unbearably sad, but I love this song...)

My, I can see why you need the electric throw and the shared body warmth, Karen!
Baileys and cream, hmm, I've not tried that...

Morning everybody!
Sorry I wasn't about last night... I was at work in the morning, [except we had to close the library because we had no heat] and then last night we all went out to eat dinner with my grandmother, and didn't get back until quite late, and so my parents wouldn't let me near the computer... and I was rather exhausted anyway, so I just curled up with a book and read until I fell asleep [which, I hasten to add, happens very rarely. Usually if I am reading, I'll read until I finish, and THEN I can sleep. Maybe. I guess I really was tired yesterday!
ANyway, I'm here now! With some more music, too.

I think a cup of my favourite Darjeeling would go down very well about now, perhaps with a chocolate digestive...? No, maybe I'll pass on the biscuit, after all that rich food last night. And I'm sure I've pulled a muscle, with all the dancing.
Perhaps, L.R.K. and Julia, we could go for a slightly gentler pace today? Although I appreciate you young things are probably fitter than a middle-aged person like me...

Well tea in the afternoon, for the time being - I'm sure you didn't pull a thing AJLR: it's just residual stiffness, so if you dance some more, it will all fade away!
I like Tension tamer too, although I also first bought it for the dragon on the box. I agree Julia and LRK, it is an entirely valid reason to buy a box of tea if you can afford it. I have recently been seduced by this, which is at the limit of what i should afford and although I have a very nice recipe for chai thanks to our recipe exchange here, I really enjoy this too!
Have a piece of lemon drip cake and enjoy the rather pretty sun setting right outside my window.

Ooh, cool! Great video, L.R.K.!
and that photo is beautiful, Susan!
I've just been up in my room, reading Dogsbody. Whoever recommended it [and I'm sure there were many of you, actually, thank you! It was one of the few DWJ books I hadn't read. I'm glad I did. Okay, done sidetracking the conversation now] I'm all for taking the party at a slower pace, as I have to go clean my room now! And I just cleaned it, too, on Thursday morning, I folded all my clothes, and all my sister's clothes, and everything. But somehow, it is all a mess again! Sigh.
Carry on with the relaxed party, you all!

Susan from Athens--I first read "latin dances" as "lap dances." I thought, wooooooooooo, were letting our hair down now!
