In love with a pirate of a dog, with the unsteady gait of a sailor newly landed, patch askew over one eye, mouth gaping in a foolish but joyful toothy grin. And so I sought one for myself.

You know, this belongs in a book dedicated to the breed. I have to admit I've never even considered this breed, and yet reading it made me want to run out and get one! Smile

They are addictive! (But never say I didn't warn you...mwahahaha!)

Lucy - four dogs (two of whom will be puppies)!!! *faints*

*remembers Southdowner's 11 - faints all over again*

It's so good to keep online company with mad people - including those who have just two nice, quiet, intellectually-minded hellhounds Smile

Glad us mad 'uns have our uses Very Happy

Mad. Yes. That was the word. Still, on the plus side, not as mad as Southdowner. Yet. Razz

Two puppies at once? Not sure if you won't be overtaking me soon Razz My friend's dachs used to disappear for hours at a time down rabbit holes, and once they had to follow her barking after a days absence, and get shovels to dig her out... and you have working wire haired dachs relations! So are your shovels to hand?
(Mini wire hair dachsies are on my list of dogs I would like if life were longer)

Yeti says training is exhausting - just reading about it made her fall asleep...

Sid Harris, who drew the classic "then a miracle happens" cartoon (www.sciencecartoonsplus.com), has one of a dog thinking the following:

"All dogs have four legs and a tail... I have four legs and a tail... I'm too tired to think any more."

Thinking is hard. Smile

Shovels to hand? Definitely. Just in case. Though naturally, Kerridwen the Tekel Goddess will be a paragon of virtue when it comes to the nearby badger sett. Not. Wink
