Yes it is, rather. That particular shot is not one that one generally would get from the generally-accessible-to-the-public parts of the church Very Happy It's too bad that I haven't got a better camera, though this one did manage to perform fairly admirably under pretty poor light conditions (as often exist inside these solidly-built churches).

Thanks.

Looks like Lille is a bit far to go for a Shadows Party (if we have those like we had Pegasus Parties)... The internet is giving me pictures that tell me that the architecture and style is very different from what I'm starting to get used to - will have to visit sometime Smile

How lovely! Thanks for sharing! Smile

If you like medieval architecture--have you been to Carcassonne yet? It's about 40 minutes by train from Toulouse, and very cool. (Actually, it looks like they're having some sort of festival right now, too!)

Carcassone is on the list of places to go. G has a car so we'll likely drive - we've been past it on the highway on the way to his parents Smile

I thought this name rang a bell. See if you can get to read Sophie Burnham's 'Treasure of Montsegur' before you go. I really enjoyed it a few years ago. It's a fictionalised account of famous medieval heresy in the area: http://www.carcassonneinfo.com/tourism.php/

Lovely church and organ by the way. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy, but do remember that Viollet-le-Duc's delightful restoration is not regarded as particularly authentic.
