Very brilliant!
But - no footnotes?????
And I am NOT AT MY COMPUTER until Monday night, how shall I bear waiting to find out what this is all about? (May have to log-in from my iPod, which is Not the Same).

I don't know what this is, I don't know where it's going, and I'm hooked and looking forward to wherever your whimsy takes us. Well done, O HellGoddess!

Oooh, this sounds promising. All this and a dog, too.

I haven't made time to comment up until now, what with school, job, and husband's 60th b-day trip to Kuaui, but I wanted to note that I'm loving the New Thing and look forward to each installment. It's a fun mash-up of fantasy parody and just enough of Robin's regular blogging style to make me have to stop and remember that, *this* part is the New Thing, not Days in the Life. Thanks, Robin and Cathy!

YESSSSS! Another installment in The New Thing. I look forward to these and was disappointed when the computer (almost) ate the last one (which I suppose is really *this* one).
But she's already come down with the rented van? with a sofa and twenty-five (or thirty) cartons of the miscellaneous rubbish? That rather commits her to the enormous three-bedroom house. It's either that or she drives off down the road, all her worldly belongings in tow...

There might be a stray dog.....
ETA: Or, to really make life trickier, she could find a stray alpaca. Good thing she has a *van*. *g*

Oooh... an alpaca! I like that one, but I'm not sure how useful they are when it comes to the cockroaches and crickets rattling the windows...

Having fit two people's total possessions in a van (minus a few things in storage, and our sofa and carpet) and then from there into a dorm room (not known as luxurious by most standards), I can say that if she's able to fit everything in 1 van (coming from an NYC apt), she doesn't need an enormous house. In fact, if she does go with the enormous house (which it did sound like she was going to), it will probably feel empty and rattly for awhile. Of course, the alpaca would probably be good for taking up at least 1 room's worth of space....

Hurray for more New Thing.
(Coming from a seriously tricky chunk of writing on Last Thing today, it was glorious to find a bit of New Thing to read and relax with before bed.)
(Last Thing isn't really last last, but the last volume in this group.)

I absolutely love the alpaca story. What a beautiful animal. It would probably be easier that riding with some dogs I have gone on car trips with.
Regarding the new thing - anyone who has moved has found that their belongs always expand to slightly more that the vehicle that will move them - it is one of the Murphy rules of the universe.
I am waiting eagerly for the next installment of the new thing. What fun.
