Oh, you poor budgie! [sends healing vibes and brandishes Mr Bolty at the plague that is plaguing Robin]

I admit, with some shame, that I thought the jokes were funny.

Joining the chorus of "Sympathy, and SO sorry you're sick."

I thought the jokes were funny, too, and I'm not suffering from incipient plague, so maybe it's my brain that's sick.

I intend to tell the rustling joke to Mr. Horsehair Braider.

I've been told repeatedly that I have a sick sense of humor... does this mean that it's true?! **worries**

Ok, here's the worst joke I can remember.

A piece of string walks into a bar, and asks for a beer. The bartender looks him up and down and says "We don't serve your kind in here." The string walks back outside, stomps around, and ties himself all up. He then walks back into the bar, and asks for a beer. The bartender says "Aren't you the piece of string that was just in here a moment ago?" "Nope," the string replies. "I'm a frayed knot."

Robin, I'm very sorry you're sick, especially for the AGAIN part, which is truly unfair. Hopefully, surrounding yourself with blankets and hellhounds--and there is no heater better than a dog, especially a dog that likes to get close--will create the right atmosphere for sleep and a speedy recovery.

So sorry to hear that you have caught some nasty germs. I hope they fight it out quick and go away quicker. My sister worked in a children's hospital so she always told really, really bad jokes from the kids - here's my favorite: What's brown and sticky? A stick.

Sorry, that's pretty bad but my taste in jokes is too. Best wishes for fast healing.

Congrats to Jodi for a big milestone! How fun.

I hope you feel better soon! For me, nothing tops A Prairie Home Companion's joke shows for Bad American Jokes. I have the CDs and drag them out from time to time, but certain segments are also on Youtube. Here's the website for APHC's Pretty Good Jokes:

So sorry to hear you're poorly sick again. This Will Not Do; will have to have a very severe Word with the Story Council.

My mother told me that for the past five years she's been making and drinking a decoction called elderberry rob, which is actually rather nice, and while you can't prove a negative (and she is old enough to get flu jabs under the NHS), she hasn't had flu these past five years. So with the air of one conferring a Great Favour she gave me her penultimate bottle of this winter's brew, and we'll see if it perks up my immune system for the rest of the winter.

As a fan of Louis L'Amour, I got a huge kick out of the rustling joke. Just the kind of joke you need to hear when you're sick... filing it away for future reference.

I'm sorry you're sick, and hope you feel better soon.

Apropos sick jokes, though...

"Mrs Svensson, why did you shoot your husband with a bow and arrow?"
"Because I didn't want to wake the children."

Or another:

"My husband is a sailor - he's only home one month a year."
"That's awful! I'd never stand for that!"
"Oh, I don't know... a month passes so quickly..."

I have more - many, many more - I collect these things. I'll stop now before more occur to me...

Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean, like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.
