I wish the thing would BREAK so I could buy a new one.

I know what you mean. After Seattle's 6.8 earthquake in 2001, I hoped my 1925 garage had collapsed. The insurance would build a new one big enough for my somewhat more modern car.

No such luck.

One of these days a mouse will chew a little too aggressively and the whole thing will fall in.* I don't think my insurance covers mice.

*The mouse will survive.

You know the end of this part of the story, right?

Oh, you bet. It's the first half of The Rule: Everything takes longer. And, so frequently, longer yet when it involves a computer.

AND NIALL AND PENELOPE ARE GOING TO THE OPERA TOMORROW. WHAT DO THEY WANT TO DO THAT FOR? WHY CAN’T THEY GO TO THE MET LIVE ON SATURDAY LIKE ME?

I've read that the extreme popularity of the Met Live theater showings is having the unintended consequence of providing serious competition for local opera companies, who may be losing audience as a result. Of course, a person could always attend a matinee and thus virtuously support opera-on-stage without foisting his Friday evening responsibilities onto innocent victims . . . Smile

Wait, what key is this that makes the entire document disappear? (And how does it disappear? You hit the key and are suddenly looking at a blank document?) I don't think I've ever encountered it before. Good thing, too. It sounds awful. What's it called?

On a Mac, you can duplicate the effect of the End key by pressing command and the down arrow simultaneously. Windows computers may do something similar with control and down arrow, or perhaps control and spacebar (or maybe alt instead of ctrl). I'm pretty sure that at the very least, they do use spacebar instead of Page Down, and shift and spacebar instead of Page Up. Of course, that's not helpful for a document you're writing just a web page you're reading.

Is that 'Oh...gods....' good or 'Oh...gods.....' bad? Wink

I could see you on one of these - of course, you'd need either a sidecar or a trailer for the Hellhounds Wink

I can see it now! The hellhounds, in their sidecar, each with helmet and goggles, and long trailing (handknitted by the Hellgoddess, of course) scarves!

Now I desperately want Robin to have a pink motorcycle with sidecar for the hellhounds.

Maybe we could do a collection and get her one for her birthday next year? Wink

I don't think that sort of baby girl pink suits her. Maybe an in-your-face fuchsia for the hellgoddess?
