At a 70s themed New Years Eve party a few years ago. I'm the Blonde One from a moderately successful Swedish pop group that were around at the time.

I'm not quite as brave...
But I would wear one of these.
(Yeah, I'd totally read standing up in a rose garden!)

Right. Three photos max, eh? OK, here we go with one from *ahem* thirty years ago. I present: The Monster!

(I liked it so much that my flatmate Kathy, who'd designed it for me, went round muttering "I've created a monster!" and the name stuck.)

(I'm sorry, I have NO IDEA how to manipulate this FUDcode stuff to actually get the picture to appear! I've tried several different variants and ... can't.)

Costume 2: from about the same date, and I have actually worn this one to travel by bus across London... The Grey Mouser! I won an award at the fancy dress parade at this convention for this costume - Best Dressed Male. One of the Senior Judges, Dot Owens, gods rest her memory, pointed out to the rest that the award was for the costume, not necessarily the person wearing it.

To answer your other question--Flickr no longer allows you to directly embed images hosted on Flickr in another website, I think.
|
It does, actually. On the photo page on Flickr, there's a big F above the photo, plus a down arrow next to it. Click the down arrow, grab HTML/BBCode, and make sure the BBCode radio button is clicked. Then copy the code and paste it in. That's all!

Thanks! I think I've got it now, and have posted the actual pictures. I was trying to follow the Help file on FUD code, and it didn't seem to work whatever I did.

Well, I *was* going to post this photo of my mini Robyn wearing her cat suit. But Someone wouldn't let me. Okay then, fine.
Instead you'll just have to be envious of my bolero jacket.

This amazing jacket has a designer label in it, but don't be fooled! It was made by someone who had some black velvet, a big bottle of Elmer's Glue, two pounds of silver glitter (at least) and way too much time on their hands. I can say in all honesty (and I think you can see I am *not* exaggerating, here) that you will have the undivided attention of any goats who happen to be in the neighborhood if you should wear it. It turns out horses enjoy it from a little more distance. I refrained from exposing my legs, which are so startlingly white that had I done so, the horses would even now be heading steadily towards Texas. Here is a photo of the back so you can enjoy the glittery gloriousness that is this jacket:

This is the envy of Hansel and Gretel. I can assure you that it leaves a trail of glitter behind it everywhere you go, so it is impossible to get lost while wearing it.
My mother gave this to me years ago, much to my complete astonishment, and while I was struggling to find just the right words to say upon receipt of it, my sister pointed out that never again did I need to worry about what to wear should I ever be invited to a Mexican hat dance. Well, the years have gone by and I was never invited to that Mexican hat dance, but if I were ever to attend a book signing by a certain very special author, well, let me just say I have in mind the perfect outfit.

First of two costumes: This is my SFWA Musketeer costume (a shot taken at a convention a few years ago)

For the signing, I'd wear the bucket boots instead of the black ones.

And the second try: Today's "Yarn Fairy (Godmother)" with a small sample of her stash:

Gown: purple shiny fake fabric (son's HS graduation gown)
Bandoliers: Part of Saturday's indulgence, one skein each
Belt: (hardly shows): Another part of Saturday's indulgence
"Hat": A balled skein of Saturday's indulgence (held on with some old Red Heart yarn: was not going to use glue on good yarn!)
Stash: paper bag (Saturday's indulgence), striped bag (one small part of my mother's stash), yellow bag (my two current projects, one of which is lying on it.)
For a stroll through London to Robin's signing, would have a work bag hung from the belt, and be knitting on the way (badly, but knitting--if one is going to be the Yarn Fairy (Godmother), then knitting in progress means DURING a progress, yes? Also would include yarn necklace, with scissors and spare needle points and things as "charms", and yarn ear decor. It was too HOT for that.

Dress up for the library ... yeah. I passed out in a Peter Rabbit costume ... had to be taken to the ER in the ambulance. No pictures.
But skating clubs also require dressing up, so here's the costume from the show
"Cafe Zamboni". My role was that of "wrangler" for the Cream Puffs ... their costumes were great and their entrance was from an oven.

So I'm hoping I'm doing this right. Here's a picture from a Disney costume party at my dance studio a few years ago. I'm dressed as Stitch.

Thank you so much for that photo editor link, btw; that made this photo possible.
This was also from a costume party at my dance studio (we have a lot of them); we were having a Harry Potter theme this particular night, and I was Hedwig. I regretfully cut my dance teacher out (he made a lovely Ron Weasley, and it makes much more sense if you can see that I'm dancing with someone rather than merely stretching out my arm and grinning) because I wasn't sure how he'd feel about being posted here.

Okay, for my final entry I am sharing a picture of me in my dirndl. I used to be in a folkdancing group and this was my German costume, lovingly made and altered for me by two of my good friends. There were many pictures of me in my dirndl in college, and out of all of my three entries this is the one I'd be most likely to actually wear to the signing, since I've been known to go all around the country doing performances in this costume (and even wore it to the wedding of the friend who sewed it for me). Unfortunately most of the good pictures were taken back when digital cameras weren't really around much yet, so you're stuck with the poor lighting in this one. It is at yes, another costume party at my dance studio.
(You can't see it very well, but this curtsy is how we ended all of our dances.)
