Not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but does anyone know if A Knot in the Grain is going to be reprinted soon? I read my library's copy half a year ago and recently found myself thinking about it like mad, so I thought I'd buy it. Amazon is selling new ones for $70! Gah! I could get it used for much cheaper but I don't really want to because used books tend to fall apart more quickly. Getting a used paperback that's described in "good" condition is kind of a questionable indicator, you know?
As far as I can tell I think this is the only Robin McKinley book (barring the picture books) that is out of print. I'm a regular blog-and-website checker so I've seen that many of the books are getting reprinted. Any chance of this one getting a longer shelf life?

Robin just happened to mention in a discussion with the mods last week that it's now officially out of print and will be hard to find. Didn't sound like any plans for a reprint were imminent.
The top one in the used copies on Amazon right now, the "Very Good" copy from -bearbooks-, is a "fulfillment by Amazon" item, which means that it will actually be shipped from their warehouse even though some of the money still goes to the third-party seller. (It also means it counts towards your free shipping for orders over $25, if you had anything else you were thinking of getting.) Since Amazon says that they do all the customer service and returns for those items, I assume they might also guarantee that the condition is as described, but I can't be certain.
A bit farther down the page, there's also a Very Good copy from Powell's, which is a very popular and well-known independent bookstore with their own condition guarantee. I don't think you'd have any trouble buying from them, or if you did they'd take it back no questions asked. (It's also available direct from their website if you prefer.)
I also see a couple listed on Amazon as Like New (from booksbyruss and mosseyrock), but one is an ex-library copy with a mylar jacket.
...And I just found the used hardcovers--several more Like New and Very Good there.

Wow, thanks a bunch, Maren. I should've looked further myself. I guess I just wanted to check and see if a new edition would be available soon, but you've answered that question too. Thanks.

I used www.abebooks.com to find a hardback copy in fine condition not too long ago (I was upgrading from my trade paper copy).
