Oh you must read this! It is a perfect and beautiful review on Riccardo Muti the conductor of the Verde's Requiem I went to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra perform at Chicago's Orchestra Hall. This review just about captures it. Heres the review:

I liked the way they didn't make us sweat about Sanchez. And yay that he made it!

I don't know. I sort of hope so. The Closer is the only show (that I can think of) that isn't always trying to tear couples apart, and besides, I like Fritz.

Me too. And since the show doesn't rely on sexual tension, I don't think it will ruin anything. (Unlike Bones where I have pretty mixed feelings about them getting together.)

I've been watching LOST. I don't watch it on a regular basis but from time to time. I liked the show best when it first came out.

We didn't really spoil anything--you can get more info from watching the commercials. But I will be VERY careful about spoilers in the future.

Well maybe you could get more info from the commercials Shelley, but I don't get the commercials in Greece Wink so I get to enter the series pure as a virgin (a Greek way of saying free of preconceptions). Sorry if I sounded a bit strident. It was only a written down response to putting my fingers in my ears and humming loudly, only it can come out somewhat shrewish in written form. Smile

Today I was feeling so tired my whole body hurt, and I was feeling rather downhearted. Now I feel so much better after having seen - Top Gear! The Swedish channel 9 are showing new episodes - that is, new to me (which is all I care about, obviously, since I couldn't care less about new cars Smile ) - today Messrs Clarkson, May & Hammond made their own police cars. It was - hilarious.

I've just seen it. My husband is driving taxi; when he'll come home I'll watch it again with him. I just love it.

My nephew got me hooked on House. It has been on for years, before I ever started watching it. I started last year. So every time there is a marathon on USA, I'm watching it.

I've been taping House, but haven't got to it yet. Glad to know it's that good. (Well, it has Hugh Laurie in it, after all...)

Oh, House is very good and I've watched seasons 1-4 on DVD to tremendous enjoyment. Hugh Laurie is just great in pretty much everything he's done.

And following a bunch of recommendations on this thread I am now watching -slowly as time is very hard to find- As Time Goes By. I found the first series somewhat slow, but the second one delightful. I got a complete set, taking advantage of the euro/pound exchange rate.

Ah, you have to get hold of the 'Jeeves and Wooster' series in that case. Probably the best interpretation of the stories I've ever seen, the two of them are perfectly cast.

Oooh, I've been re-watching Jeeves and Wooster recently. I adore the pair of them (Fry and Laurie). They also have a sketch comedy show, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and appeared in Blackadder several times.

Oh, definitely! Actually, I only now know of/have seen and thoroughly enjoyed "The Good Life"[/"Good Neighbors"] because it is also up on Youtube, and I found it while searching for To The Manor Born...

PBS British Comedy night is a wonderful thing.
Now I rely on YouTube, as I have no TV... oh well.

I've just got up from in front of the television watching a documentary by Steven Fry about his bi-polar diagnosis. Very measured and balanced, with Fry being utterly charming, talking to all sorts of different people about their experiences. I found it fascinating.

Laurie's Prince George in Blackadder III, and pure genius; but Fry is Lord Melchit in Blackadder II. I didn't much care for Blackadder Goes Fourth, so I'm not sure if they ever ended up appearing together or not in that context. But I'll second (or thrid, or fifth) the rec for Jeeves and Wooster--they were FABULOUS.

(I also follow Fry on my Twitter feed, the man's entertaining 24-7.)
