Awesome! That last line is sure tricky to play and sing at the same time (for me, anyway >.<). I need to practice it now!

Are we going to get a volunteer to produce and post a recording of this? Or are there copyright issues?

I am so very pleased to see this--wasn't sure if I was joking or not when I asked if you were going to write music for it--but so can someone sing it onto the computer so that it is playable?? Or I will bribe young, musical colleagues to oblige. But I will hear it!

Now I (et al.) await Pegasus!

Thank you! (for lots of things)

If it's any comfort, *I* can't play and sing it at the same time. (Oisin can. Oisin is my secret weapon. :))

I think once I've put it out there, although I retain copyright I can't exactly stop people. If anyone with a voice wants to record and post it here, that would be great. I tried to sing it onto my videocam thing and . . . the results were somewhat discouraging. Ahem.

It's just a lullaby. It's SUPPOSED to be simple. *Everyone* knows someone who could pick out the vocal line with one finger on a piano or equivalent.

I'm not sure if this link will work or not, but here is a quick recording I made of just the vocal line (my sixth try >.<).

A lovely recording. I'd only have a recorder to play it on which doesn't have all the right notes and my sight reading is atrocious.

Bugger! Can't play .wav format! I'll have to download and run it through my converter. But well done, wuff!

Thank you for posting -- and thanks, Wuffielover, for the recording. Very helpful for us non-music-readers! (OK, I can read the 9 notes of the bagpipe, but that's not a whole lot of help for this.)

It's lovely. Smile

I'm taking the music to church with me tomorrow; I should have a few minutes to myself with the organ right after supper and before the others come in to practice the hymns. The melody sounds lovely (thanks, Wuffie!) and I want to play it.

Thank you so much Wuffielover, for singing this, and (again and often and always) Robin.

It played on my iTunes too. So now my iTunes has two things in it: this and examples of how to speak with a Yiddish accent. Sometimes I DO love computers.

Glad it worked (and sounded) okay! It was a pleasure to sing (yay Robin!), but the downside was it's stuck in my head forever now Razz

Whew! I just left it in .wav since that's CD file format, I thought no one would have a problem with it. Sorry!
