Belated congratulations! Smile

Oh, and as for the ringing? I'm moving to DC for grad school in three weeks, and I've discovered two ringing towers in the city. I've a feeling that pretty soon knitting isn't the only thing I'll have to thank/blame you all for introducing me to!!! Smile

This is probably the easiest way to tell people who will actually care and I NEED to tell someone: I am going ringing tomorrow, for the first time. Handbells for an hour and then tower bells for an hour. Both on day one? Will I survive?

Excited and scared,
Cath

Well, you're a glutton for punishment!! Wink Very Happy

Handbells will completely fry your brain in a totally different way to tower bells.

Have fun!! And report back in full, gory detail, please!

They were rather offered as a set, given that I want in, it seemed churlish to opt out of half of it! The tower captain did email me to say they'd only started the handbells last week, so, hopefully, coming in at the second practise means I won't be the only one causing a flailing melee!

I also learned, while sharing my news, that a good friend of mine rings (how did I miss that for three years?). She's based at a different tower but is excited that we'll be able to ring together sometimes. More people to geek with is good! And I was able to tell her about Mobel (yes, on iPhil already, but I won't open it until after tomorrow, I want to stay excited and not risk scaring myself with something over my head).

I fully intend to have fun! And I promise not to miss a drop of gore in the report!

I like this plan! What's the best/least annoying way for me to get it to you, format wise?
