he started us on a new song*** last thing tonight which is so unutterably loathsome I found myself unable to pry my tongue from the roof of my mouth and sing it. Arrgh. People have frelling quit choirs for less.
When I was in high school, I joined, briefly, a choir group. I don't remember if I quit it or if it folded before it ever performed, but I do remember the ABSOLUTELY GODAWFUL and unfortunately UNFORGETTABLE songs we were given to sing. And I mean every one of those capital letters. On reflection, I think I must have quit. There must be some virus that's an occupational hazard of choir directors . . .
Knitting is one of those activities that's enjoyable both in itself and as a means to an end (e.g., a sweater). And yes, a great way to deal with situations requiring patient (or not so patient) waiting. Better than a book, in fact, because you can keep your eye on the computer screen at the same time as you're knitting, and can curse without losing your place.

Well, I agree with the 2017 doodle group. Though if it takes that long (and I don't mind if it does), someone is going to have to be double-checking addresses prior to mailing things off...

So true. I have a harder time taking my knitting with me to places, but it's a great way of being patient at home. I am slowly mastering the art of reading my Kindle while knitting (I have a hard time holding book pages open, but Kindle just requires button pushing), so now I can do both! (sort of)

Yes, that's the thing I love most about my iPad, I don't have to hold the pages open. Didn't realize how important that would be till I tried it.
Last night it was petting the cat while reading instead of knitting, but same difference
