So how's your luck going?

I actually signed up to be a French Expert on JustAnswer a few weeks ago, and then promptly forgot the name of the website, so thanks! (It would have emailed me if I'd gotten any questions, which I obviously have not.) You have to put in your credentials when you sign up, but they don't appear too concerned about verifying anything. Anyway, the most they would do is check that you're employed where you say you are and such; it's not like they cultivate supermechanics who are likely to know any more than the ones you've already talked to.

Has anyone out there ever done this? They want you to pay for the privilege, which is reasonable if they’ve got real mechanics on call, but they want your credit card #

Eeeps! Apologies about this--I had the idea that the potentially-helpful mechanics were like the helpful people on some info and product review forums and would offer their suggestions for free.

I have a great idea! said Oisin. You can cut it in half (January is halfway, right?) and end it on a cliffhanger!#

And he still lives? You are a model of self-restraint. Smile

Roger, Niall and Leo were up in the belfry being manly, and we were more than happy to let them get on with it.

This strikes me as a perfectly appropriate division of labor!
