LOL
Spot on. Very Happy

I was barely at hunting stage - let alone hunting with TWO bells in my hands - when I sat within the Ring of Doom . But it was FUN. And the bells sounded lovely.

If I lived closer I just know I would end up being an addicted regular. Maybe it's a good thing to live on the other side of the globe... Wink (#sucker)

As a no-more-than-competent dog handler, I don't have any trouble understanding Alicia's feelings in this post. (The part about the shaking hands and the bathroom visits really resonates. And b-twin-1's mention of the Ring of Doom calls other rings to mind . . . Smile ) But showing my dog is still fun, and when everything goes right, that makes up for the nerves and the mistakes.

Fantastic post, Alicia. How well you've bought it all back ... and as for the "Ring of Doom" - ROFL!!! Very Happy

And, yes, I'd be one of those addicted suckers as well.

Oh yes! This all sounds VERY familiar! (although in my case you could add in the fact that I had ZERO experience of ANY kind of bellringing, and also a tendency to be distracted by the pretty, pretty books that were sitting on the shelves and all calling to me at once Wink )

I had three tabs open: one for the actual post, and two for the footnotes. Hee.

Also, while I've only seen videos of handbell change-ringing, I kind of wish I knew people who did handbells (and live in my state), because I'd want to sit in and listen. Except they'd no doubt shove a pair of bells in my hands and tell me it's easy...and I'd be suckered in and believe them and end up a thee-times-a-week ringer because it sounds just that lovely. Oy.
