Those cookies sound dangerously decadent, and perfect for the birthday party I'm helping throw next week.

Question - do you think they'd be suitable for minimal decorating? After the icing/glazing phase? I'd like to do a little piping on them (the theme of the party decorations is the girl's first initial).

Confucius says "Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall." Too bad my souffles don't follow this rule.

"‡ I have mixed feelings about salt. It does heighten the chocolateyness of chocolate, but . . . salt is everywhere. Like sugar. And here we’re concentrating on the sugar. The original recipe calls for 1 teaspoon salt. Good grief."

Thank you from the bottom of my salt-restricted heart* for pointing that out. There's SO MUCH of the stuff in SO MANY things!

*(Well, it's not for cardiac-related reasons, but it's heartfelt all the same.)

I'm "lucky" I get to add sea salt to everything, cause my adrenal glands need it...

Lucky is very subjective here. I'd rather Not have adrenal fatigue, *ahem* But it was very liberating to find out that particular craving was legitimate.

The recipe looks marvelous Smile Makes me want to dig out my gluten-free chocolate cookie recipe and get busy

Try using course grain sea salt for the recipe. That way not as much as fine grain table salt, without losing flavor.

Robin...um, considering the latest fascination with that contraption, didn't you refer to her as the apocalypse..anyway, had you not already got over the phone-phobia once you perused the apps on that pink-machine-of-terror?

Shouldn't the hellhounds be letting you hide behind them. I suppose during lightning storms they "protect" you real close-like as does my "little" puppy?

Try braying at the beagles and see what the does. (please note, not responsible for author being mistaken as fox or raccoon, or any barks, scratches, or torn pantlegs or even falling into rosebushes after being treed, as a result of teasing beagles)

The cookies sound wonderful.

Hugs hugs for dog adventures of the bad kind, and I'm glad you and attendant hellhounds are unscathed. I haven't run into any aggressive dogs lately, aside from the ones that bellow threats from their yards, and I don't count those. I have, however, noticed an increase in the number of, err, deposits on our local sidewalks and lawns. Somebody (or somebodies) has (have) decided that they don't have to pick up after their dogs, and it's getting truly disgusting. Some people should not be allowed animal companions.

I think I’ve told you about Superboy and Bizarro, the evil beagle twins. They are usually on the other end of the lead from a medium-small woman who can, indeed, barely hold them

I'm surprised that beagles carry on like this--the ones I've been around have been so scent-oriented that their noses don't leave the ground long enough for them to turn into barking maniacs. Walking them together sounds like a bad move on their owner's part. I'm glad the hellhounds were able to avoid an encounter.
