Raise your hand if you enlarged the picture with the first page to read it.

Oh Happy Day!
Good work Aaron, I'd say you've caught the spirit of this community.
I find the prettiest place mats of the type you describe in Scandinavian gift shops. They tend to have beautiful wildflowers on them.
I don't use them on the table but under pitchers of flowers and similar potentially drippy things.
As for my table, I've been restraining myself from ordering oilcloth from Gudrun Sjoden but I think the time may have come ...
Enjoy the three weeks until Pegasus returns to the full!

Those are supposed to be placemats? I had no idea that's what they were supposed to be for. My family has some of those things (not roses... I have no idea what the pictures are, though I think they're night scenes of some sort... my memory makes them out to be in various shades of dark blue, though I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure they're all different pictures) - my mom mostly put them along the center of the table to put the serving dishes on. She hasn't done this in years, I expect they're in the back of a cupboard someplace. I think my grandmother has some as well (I want to say hers were/are greenish, though again, I couldn't swear to this - these may have been purged when they moved out of their house and into the retirement community...) but I can't recall what she did with them when in use - vague memories imply something to do with milk jugs on the breakfast table.
Are those things available in the States? I don't think I've seen them anywhere other than on my mother's or grandmother's tables (and now, apparently, Robin's) - my grandmother is English but has lived the last 40-odd years in Canada, and I expect my mother got hers from my grandmother (this is, btw, my paternal grandmother, as my mother is from a different continent entirely).

Congratulations on being almost done with Pegasus - and getting a break from working on it for a little while Even if there's going to be a rather frantic period after the vacation...

It didn't even occur to me. You... you... vision capitalists!
(flounces off in a huff, with a decidedly unattractive tinge of envy-green)
(looks back in to add:)No, I don't even care if you actually could see to read anything on the page or not! (disappears again)
Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean, like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.

Well, as Robin herself said, there isn't anything substantially different than what we saw before....but I did have to check just in case...

I care deeply about your ands.

I hope you all appreciate me restraining myself from making a joke involving "buts." Because it isn't easy.

I thought for a long time if that could be taken the wrong way at all. Apparently I underestimated you, Black Bear! ;)
