Robin. You are distressingly cute in those photos! Smite if for saying that if you must, but it's true! You look fabulous.

Also, at first glance, all your belongings off to the left looked like a dead body.

(Looking forward to the video!)

YAYYYY!! You rang and smiled and didn't have your head chopped off! Hurrah and well done Very Happy

I have no idea what we were smiling about. It’s probably just terror. (Even Niall admitted to being shattered afterward...)

I had a two hour handbell lesson today with scarily good ringers - everytime I went seriously wrong I felt like giggling, and on a couple of occasions I actually did - sheer nerves! And it wasn't a wedding but I was seriously shattered all afternoon... being a glutton for punishment I've already made sure of another lesson next week *g*

(Umm.. Jodi.. To even think such a thing! Have you been bloodthirstily increasing the bodycount in your writing again?! It sounds like the odd body lying about is on your mind... Very Happy )

Nice pics though Smile Glad you survived!

PS. Do you need a pack of ravening Border Collies or a troupe of determined Bull terriers to make sure you get paid?? Willing reinforcements to the Hellhound Brigade are waiting in the wings...

I wish that I were better with Photoshop, my imagination is rounding up all the dogs we've seen on this blog and creating a great panorama of canine pandemonium.

I agree that you look great Robin, and I hope that the video does materialize ... this technology can surely do that much for us, given all the nonsense we've put up with over the years.

Good luck with tomorrow's wedding!

How rude and stupid! One doesn't NOT pay when asking people to come and ring handbells for the wedding. I hope you, Niall and Colin do track her down and make her do right by y'all.

*feels the love* But I do note that no one's agreed that there's a dead body off to the left. Does this mean I'm the only one who saw that?

I completely missed it the first time, but you're right. It looks like a dead body. Maybe I watch too many crime dramas on US TV.

(And b_twin_1, when is Jodi *not* increasing the body count in her stories?)

Back on topic, squeee!!!! about possible video. And not paying musicians/bell ringers day of? Tacky. Very tacky.

I didn't at first, but then after I'd read your comment and went back and had another look, and I absolutely agree with you - it is definitely a dead body!

Robin, congratulations - and I'm sure you will get paid; she probably just forgot in the heat of the moment (I do wonder if my daughter ever paid the lone bell-ringer at her wedding - there is a ring of 3 bells at my parents' village church, where my daughter was married, and one person rings all 3 at once! I assume she did, or I'd have heard!).

Robin made the most appalling pun:

Handbells go . . . like the clappers, one might almost say.

But we would really rather you didn't! (As bad as my mother once saying that my father's hip was on its last legs!).

Oh good. Smite? Are you kidding? At 57 I can use all the compliments I can get. :)

PS: *Snork.* The one important thing that got left out of the photos is my PINK BEADED HANDBAG, which was kind of buried by the dead-body aspect of our belongings. If we find ourselves doing a lot of weddings (NO! NOOOOOOO!) we might have to figure out an alternative plan. . . .

We're ASSUMING that it was just one of the details that dropped off the list, weddings being somewhat long-list items for the mother of the bride. But it is a little . . . annoying.

Ooooh. That's a good idea. The only problem is . . . people often LIKE handbells. They're a nice mellow sound. Not at all intrusive. Unless, of course, they're being rung *badly.* We could go practise our Kent at the tea shop. . . .:)

I'm glad everything went well, glad you did get paid within a reasonable period of time, and regret not seeing the pink beaded bag!
