The Death Maze, by Ariana Franklin. Set in the year 1172, in England at the time of Henry II, this features (as did her Mistress of the Art of Death) one Adelia Aguilar, a woman trained at the famous medical school in Salerno. It's a murder mystery and very well done.

Oh I have Mistress of the Art of Death (recommended by my sister) and I obviously need to get down to reading it Smile

The Enchanted Castle by Edith Nesbit. I've listened to it of CD and really enjoyed it that way. I is a fantastic book that—even though about and for children— I enjoyed.

Anna, I just finished re-reading The Enchanted Castle (free ebook for the Kindle) and I really enjoyed it. I like all of E Nesbit.

For the Regency fans, I stumbled across this book in the library and took a punt, and it was a worthwhile one!

Point of Honour by Madeleine E Robins (and it has a sequel Petty Treason)

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/madeleine-e-robins/point -of-honor.htm

Its a Regency crime/mystery and jolly good!

I really enjoyed reading Augustus Caesar's World by Genevieve Foster. I had to read it for history a while back—a few years back— and thought it was fantastic. I love Greek and Roman myths and history.

The Lady in Gil trilogy by Rebecca Bradley- Lady in Gil, Scion's Lady, and Lady Pain. I can't remember where this was recommended to me (in fact, I also can't remember if it's still in print)but I thought it was fantastic.

I don't know if this book has already been mentioned here but I recommend "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" by Winifred Watson.

Its set in 1930s London and is a wonderful lighthearted read. Don't be put off the book if you've seen the film - as is often the case it doesn't do the original material justice.

I have just finished Point of Honour, having seen it recommended here and enjoyed it a lot. Off to see if I can reserve the next one on line at our library - isn't technology wonderful!

The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy. Brilliant! Fantastic! and definitely one of my top of the list books. Love the movie too but the book is still better.

me too. I did get to see the touring version, and I have the soundtrack for that as well. It's interesting the changes between the two.
