Thank you for giving us something so tasty in spite of being shattered.
Do take care.

Thank you.
I promise I won't ever steal your roses or picket your bell-tower, even if you decide to hide Kirith again.
Well, I don't think I would picket the bells anyway, because I am too fascinated by them. It's only your blog and some of the links to the ringers' publications, and your obvious network of ringers (even if they are thin on the ground early on Sunday morning) that has let me know that this is a living tradition, not something isolated in the past and between the covers of The Nine Tailors.
Sending my good wishes with the rest, with virtual chocolate, and champagne. (Well, tea if you'd rather, but why not champagne?)
I must confess that another thing I have learned from you and this community is about Green & Blacks. I never heard of it before. Looking up on their website, I see it is carried in my local Kroger grocery; must go see what the fuss is about.
Rewrite? Well, of course you would! Kirith is over ten years old, right? you clearly learn more and more about your craft every book, so it seems to me you couldn't possibly strain the old copy through your eyes to your typing fingertips without filtering in the improvements your more experienced brain requires you to make. I don't think that creativity is like spoons, is it? Does improving one work make it impossible to work on another? Except for the energy you have to have to not slide off the chair as you type. (Me, I am in bed with my laptop. Horrible posture!)

(Is "foisting" used correctly in this sentence? I like the verb, but I never know exactly how it should be used.)

Considering it's already written, I don't think it'd do you any good. Robin has said before she's one of those once-it's-down-that's-it writers. See her response to demands for a SUNSHINE sequel if you want to imagine what foisting would accomplish. ;)

I hope I'm not banned from the blog for admitting this, but ...
...
...I tried Green & Blacks and didn't like it. Hard to describe why; same reason I don't like other British chocolate. Chocolate from Canada strikes me the same way. Too ... buttery? I like a smooth, rich texture, but not a buttery FLAVOR.
On the other hand, I had a Cadbury bar in Argentina that I still remember with great delight. I can't for the life of me imagine why a Nestle or Cadbury bar bought in different countries tastes different, but it definitely does.
|
That could be because the different countries have vastly different regulations as to what comprises actual chocolate.
These days, Hershey's more often than not, uses vegetable shortning in their products. See for example the Reese's Whips.}:/
Whereas Green&Black's is all organic, so they definately taste different.}:P
I won't lynch ya for not liking it, no worries here.}:P

She also has said before, I believe in ref to this very story, that she won't have it printed either.
She doesn't like to revisit a world once her Muses (Library people?}:P) decide she's done with it. That's why there's never been any more books about Aerin and the Blue Sword. Something like that, I believe, has been rehashed numerous times.
Not that I mind one bit.}:P My copies are well read and well loved and I like them that way. I can't imagine them being added to or rewritten.

Seriously, all, do remember the guidelines--NO story ideas, and NO tellin' the author how or what to write.

At which point the mods would cease to have purpose every evening from 6-8pm (Eastern whatever time), and we'd wander the internets looking for a new author to settle in with. But we'd never find one Just Like Robin, so we'd probably become a menace to society. Can you imagine?

Blackbear & Wolf, I suspect there are a few of us in the "menace to society" category lurking here - what could be our collective noun?

You guys are too funny! quit making me laugh! it's really cool to read and see all of the camraderie. yes, i just recently had to resign as the ringleader of my own evil gang, (even the big toughies with missing teeth begged me not to go) because I HAD to read the blog AND the webforum and make comments and such. oh, the responsibilities of having LOGGED IN! much less moderating. . . .my, my. . . good thing there's the blog with forum (it also HANDILY keeps me from my homework!)[/quote]
And this is why I won't be a Mod anywhere. No time for anything else! }:P
