OhGood. So glad to hear that you are healing well, and that the surgery went okay and all.
Hugs and continued good thoughts and prayers.

No, it's always good to be reminded about pain killers. Not taking them when you need them, however, can hinder healing. And I cannot find any arnica anywhere. Damn.

What I do is treat as needed the first little bit, then taper off as the pain does, but I always save some for the final tapering off. This way, if I have developed any dependence (not the same as addiction) it will be offset as I taper off for good. This has always worked for me. And of course I take the drugs only as prescribed--I don't get creative. I really don't like feeling out of it, so that helps, too. I never get cravings.

But that's only because I'm very careful, and again, I appreciate the reminder.

And after all this I must say that I'm glad I have something for the pain because I woke up to a screaming leg in the middle of the night! Have it under control now, though.

Again, to all of you, thanks. And I hope you'll still be around for the skin graft, which should come in about a month, they say.

I was too late to get in on the before candles so I'm lighting an after candle for you. Prayers that you heal well, and painlessly.

Peace,

Rebecca

(note: A friend of mine recently went through surgery. She did well but had a hard time because no one told her how addictive her pain meds were. She first noticed when she stopped, then had to go back on and slowly stop to avoid withdraw. I hope that this story is unnecessary ... )
