Shadows coming in 2013

Wedding dress, ll

img_0768.JPGMaybe it’s a guy thing, cutting you off at the knees.  This is her new husband taking the photo.  Although he was using a strange camera with a mass of wedding guests immediately behind him and I’m inclined to let him off.

Melanie’s dress is, hands down, the most beautiful wedding dress I’ve ever seen.*  You’re only getting a glimpse here;  it has only the one strap, which is a big soft bow that trails down behind, and the drapery you can see continues to a little gathered point in front at the knees and a teeny mini-train that dangles to her ankles in back.  And the whole thing is in that utterly delicious cream satin that you want to add chocolate sauce to and put a spoon in.

Also note bouquet.  Even the details in this wedding were gorgeous and lush.  All the flowers were to die for.**

*  Well.  Mine was pretty good.  But it was the Edwardian summer frock style, not the dead glamorous style.  I wouldn’t dare the dead glamorous style but Melanie carried it off brilliantly.

** Translation:  lots of roses.

I never get home this early (it’s 6:49 p.m. here) so I don’t usually have this problem. But golly! You’re posting as I’m reading! So funny.

Just wanted to let you know I just got Chalice today (in the Young Adult section?) and I’ve read it and you can justly be proud. Hope that scares away some of those insecurities most artists have about people reading their work – I both love and hate people looking at my art photographs for example. Or maybe you are supremely confident and do not need such reassurance?

And you look lovely in your dress. I particularly like the bright pink on you. The wedding dress is quite nice too (both yours and hers). But I’m sure the tuxedo would have looked marvelous too. Do wear it next time!!!! LOL!

There **will be** a tux some day. :)

Thank you!

And then look at all of your head room! Unfathomable.

Wow, her dress *is* glamorous. Gorgeous, both of you!

I keep wanting to say gushy things on each picture and then I realise that it would probably sound stupid. So I’ll summarise: your dress is brightly gorgeous, your hair looks really nice, and Melanie looks lovely too. (I so wish I had her colouring. Creamy satin and pink and white and purple roses. *sighs*)

I’m also very impressed that you managed to ring in the dress.

I wish I had her COMPLEXION. EVen at her age I had skin you wanted to keep COVERED UP.

I think I’ll ditto on this. Pretty much what I was thinking, myself.

Melanie’s dress is beautiful, and she looks lovely in it. Satin can be a very unforgiving fabric.

And if it wouldn’t be too suggestive of those pastel dinner jackets that boys wear to proms, you could push the envelope and have one made in magenta! :)

If you had been standing beside her in a tux it wouldn’t have looked as nice. My 2c anyway. :)
