Bell ringing woman

Edward took this photo.  The ones Peter took all cut me off at the elbows.

img_0765.JPGPlease note bicycle clips.  They worked a treat too.

And those are the ‘lines’ of bell methods on the chalkboard behind me.   Be afraid.  Be very afraid.

The dress is lovely. The chalk zigzags are arcane… and the bicycle clips make me think of Edward Gorey for some strange reason

That is a lovely dress. I’m glad we got to see all of it. I adore strappy Mary Jane-type shoes. I never was a girly frippery sort of person, but then when I turned oh, 28 or so, I suddenly picked up the knack. It was a very strange transition. When I find myself lusting after a pair of beautiful heels like these that I made the hubby get me so that we could go dancing and be a little closer to the same height,

it’s rather an out-of-body experience. I developed a liking for toile, too, which I previously loathed. Just a bit like being possessed of an alien spirit that you learn to get along with.

Yes, I went girly late too–discovered pink when I was 30!

What a good idea. And I bet they didn’t leave wrinkles in your skirt, either.

No, they didn’t, but it’s also a very nice drapey jersey. The other ringers had to stop *laughing* before we got on with the ringing however–!

You look lovely. I never would have thought a dressy outfit could have been so workable for something so athletic.
Just because I thought it would amuse you: There is a designer working on a sweater pattern using change ringing patterns to determine the cable panels. A different pattern for each cable pattern. She’s blogging the knitting of the sweater as she goes. Based on her sock patterns it’s going to be lovely and fiendishly difficult. http://www.tsocktsarina.com/blog/

********* I’m so glad there are other such mental cases wandering around loose. :)

Goodness! You own something other than jeans(: The bicycle clips were a *very* good idea… although it took me half a minute of wondering why you were using them. It’s still early Sunday morning over here :p

Are bell methods related in some way to seismology?
