Ohhhhhh.

I hope this one will grown in southern Vermont, if not I might have to sneak one into my parent’s yard (zone 7). All they have is rugosas, but they keep forgetting they’re there, so maybe they wouldn’t notice until they are overwhelmed by the blossoms.

Guerrilla rose planting, I like it!

Ooohhhh…

That goes for all of today’s rose pictures, by the way.

All of those ruffles, and such pink cheeks! But of course ze is Frainch, non?

I admit, my own taste in roses tends to the rugosas and wild roses (a.k.a. “roses even I have a tough time killing”), but your Mme. has an exuberance I can’t help but admire. Only a thug would call such a charmer “revolting.” (Perhaps he was trying to hide his secret mania for hot pink.)

It reminds me quite a bit of the roses on the cover of a copy of “Beauty” that I had (that was loaned out to a 12 year old niece and never returned, just as well, I got to buy a new one!).

The pictures make me want to go stick my faces in roses and just *inhale*….

Rose Envy!

I have enough roses …. I do …. I have enough roses ……

Oh, well, you know, Mme Isaac is a *classic*. Someone who is a serious rose grower really SHOULD have her . . . [insinuatingly]

Mwa ha ha ha ha ha.

::sideways glance::

Um ….. sotto voce There is a rose nursery in town. Our town has a tagline of “City of Roses”. And I couldn’t get Dainty Bess this year. So theoretically there might be room for a Mme. Isaac. Theoretically.

::gulp::

I can’t afford this…. I went to the ballet on the weekend instead of buying more roses! Nooooooooooo!

::sigh:: I’ll have to take a pic of the new rose “bed” with all the little roses tucked up in their green plastic ‘rabbit-proof tents’.

::mutters under breath about evil influences::

So. What about WorldCon in Melbourne in sept 2010? HUH??

MWAHAHAHAHA

A ballet ticket is worth SEVERAL rose bushes. And Mme Isaac is a much better bet than Dainty Bess (lovely as Bess is).

Of course I could just not prune some of the bushes and there are bound to be *some* blooms in September…..

I’m sitting here in my comfy chair with my feet up *watching* you. :)
