I’m also amazed at how pink they are. I have photos . . . somewhere . . . of the old monster bush of Souvenir at the old house, where she’s creamy with what’s-known-as-’flesh’-although-I’ve-never-seen-a-Caucasian-that-colour tucked into the centre. I’m assuming that’s the sun and the heat. We really are turning into a Mediterranean country. Or Australia.
And have I mentioned that she also smells divine? She smells divine. And that’s even standing next to Gertrude Jekyll* who is generally considered to have one of the best scents going.
