OK, you must have been exaggerating last week when you were complaining about how cold it was if you have roses that look like that already – it is not fair, my roses have barely dared to leaf out, and I haven’t even spotted a BUD yet. On the bright side, yesterday I went to the garden part of Walmart and found a four-foot high Mr. Lincoln loaded with buds. I’ve always said I would be willing to grow roses as annuals if I could find any big enough, so here it is – and only $13.50.
We had a thundering hot spell before that and everything came rioting out so hard it couldn’t put the brakes back on. Even as English weather goes the last few weeks have been extreme.
