Pegasus II  coming in 2014
Shadows coming in 2013

Bell ringing woman, ll

bells-dogs-etc-017.jpgRinging a touch.  Note that everybody’s rope is at a different point of its rise or fall:  because every bell is in a different location.  (Or had better be.  But probably is here, or we would be looking a lot more agonised.)  All of you who have watched the bell ringing videos–or any of you who ring yourselves–will recognise what’s happening.  It looks a little strange caught and frozen like this.

Oh, feh, and my hands aren’t together again

This one is really neat. I like seeing the different positions of the ropes. It *does* look a little weird, but it’s called change-ringing, isn’t it? So the different positions only makes sense. :)

Yep. :)

Yes, I noticed the rose theme. Do you also have clothes with versions of chocolate and hellhounds as well??

Comment by Robin

SNORK. They’re harder, somehow, although I have a friend in America who claims to be on the track of a George Booth dog t shirt. :)

I have a friend in California who sent me a chocolate-dyed t shirt for my birthday one year. I’m not quite sure HOW they use chocolate to dye it, but it definitely smelled of chocolate until it had been washed a few times – MOST tantalising it was too….

I’d wake up one morning and discover I’d eaten it by mistake. . . . :)

When I was little we had a Scottie, and now my parents’ house and wardrobes are FULL of Scottie stuff.

If there’s not enough out there, you could always start your own line of Hellhound clothing (and a fragrance to go with?). ^_^

YAY YAY YAY YAY: I just ordered it too!!!!!! (Also ‘people say life is the thing. I prefer reading’, which I’ve just added to the circulating quote system on this blog. I already have ‘so many books–so little time.’ :)) Thank you!!!!!

Yay! Bell ringing pics!
It’s peeking into another world! :)
Now all you have to do is set up some dog-friendly bells and train dogs to bell ring. Ooops. Did I say that out loud?? I think I have a dog here that would love to learn bell-ringing. ;)

I assume this is your local bell tower just moments away from your home? It looks lovely and cheery.

Comment by Robin

Yes. About a minute and a half flat run door to door. :)

Thanks for the pics. Change-ringing doesn’t *look* like much, from what little I’ce seen of it (these pictures, basically)–but then I notice the extremely watchful expressions in everyone’s eyes ;)
Thank you for the blog btw. If you went on tour, I’d be too shy to actually come to a signing or whatever. But on the internet, it’s a little like we get to meet you…without anybody having really go anywhere. Thanks for all the time and energy you put into this blog ;) we appreciate it!
The hellhounds are very lovely. Such expressive eyes (and such cute ears–I am a sucker for cute ears, my own canines are of a flop-eared variety…)
Anyway thanks again,
Nema

Change-ringing doesn’t *look* like much,

******* GOLLY is that the wrong thing to say to a change-ringer. Especially one who spends quite a lot of time in her blog moaning about how difficult it is.

Thanks for all the time and energy you put into this blog ;) we appreciate it!

******** Thank *you*! I find meeting in three dimensions very difficult myself–on both sides of the fence–and the fact that I can write my blog while covered in mud and dog hair and thorn scratches and ineradicable-dirt-under-the-fingernails is VERY appealing. Remember this all started when my publisher said ‘tour or blog’ . . .

An utterly unrelated note: I visited Amazon the other day and noticed that its blog link is still to the last page of your old blog. I don’t know if you wanted it that way or not, but I thought I’d mention it in case you hadn’t realized it.

Comment by Robin

Yes I know. Changing it is One More Thing and I haven’t got round to making it happen which is to say making it possible for someone else to make it happen.

You can get a reissue of the original New Yorker/Booth bull terrier T-shirt from http://www.thenewyorkerstore.com. And a good thing, too, since I had to replace mine.

Thanks for posting the bell-ringing pictures. The reality must be lots more dynamic–exciting video to come!
